Hey there, I'm Holly founder of IGo Yoga and that's a recent pic of my hubby Phil and wonderful daughter Shanti...

But years ago now, not long after leaving university with high expectations I soon realised how tough & unforgiving life could be. 

I was in a full-time teaching role that left me drained & unfulfilled, I ended up living for the weekends to escape the life I created.

I constantly struggled to keep up with my finances so ended up with a second job waitressing for tips & on top of that...
I Had Major Anxiety & Self Esteem Issues...
 ... constantly putting myself down, body shaming & people pleasing.

Through all of this I figured I could "fake it till I make it." Just power through & some day, things would work out & get better.

But things didn't get better!

I ended up burning myself out to the point I was rushed into hospital to find out I had pneumonia & I might not make it... this was truly the scariest & most pivitol point of my life. 

Thank god I pulled through because it lead me to begin to get answers... After leaving the hospital I binged on you-tube videos, blogs & books.... I mean anything that could help me begin making positive changes.

And I found that everything I consumed said....
The key lies in practicing "Mindfulness"...
At first it made no sense, I mean, I didn't have time to sit around meditating each day, all while hoping & wishing things would get better... I mean I had sh*t to sort out in my life!!

But I tried... & tried some more... & continued trying which lead me to begin practicing yoga as well as meditation.
AND BOY IT WAS LIFE CHANGING TO SAY THE LEAST!
That doesn't mean there wasn't still problems & challenges that come my way...

I had my struggles with...
  • Constantly doubting whether things would get better
  • Worrying whether doing yoga & meditation would actually help..
  • Being certain I was doing it all wrong (especially when times were tough)
  • ​Dealing with ALL THE THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS that kept popping up in my head
  • ​Trying my best to avoid or minimise time with negative people in my life
  • ​& feeling tired, unmotivated & even overwhelmed every time I come to practice yoga or meditation

It became so important to me I decided to quit both my jobs, fly half way across the world to India where I completed my meditation & yoga teacher training so I could make this my life's work... sharing the gift of a Mindful Me Lifestyle.
